How to cast the Song of Silence by the mill
With the Song of Silence already unlocked, take out the flute with R and check the song’s notes in the Tab menu. A release-week reply gives the keyboard sequence d, k, f, ;, l and says to play it by the mill. Compare that sequence with your own songbook and bindings before entering it.

Start from the unlocked song
- Go to the mill location relevant to your current objective.
- Open the Tab menu and inspect the Song of Silence notes.
- Close the menu and take out the flute with R, or your remapped flute control.
- Play the displayed melody. The cited keyboard reply reports d, k, f, semicolon, l.
The questioner says they had already unlocked the song. These steps answer the missing cast action at that stage; they do not explain how to obtain the song earlier.
Use your displayed notes if the keys differ
The reported semicolon is a keyboard key, not an instruction to pause the melody. Key layouts, remapping and controller prompts can differ, so your current songbook is the reference for input. The controller spell guide covers the general song-input flow, but this source does not provide a Song of Silence controller note sequence.
If playing it does not advance the objective
Check that this song is unlocked, that the melody matches your menu and that you are at the mill specified by your quest. A low music score is a separate issue: the mastery guide explains Eastshade’s optional-minigame statement. The short reply establishes the cast controls and location, but not a named follow-up reward or every quest trigger. If those three checks match and nothing changes, record the precise journal objective and installed version rather than treating an unverified unlock or reward as the fix.
