Fungal Transmutation: ingredients and the Cave of Questions
Potion of Fungal Transmutation uses one Bone Bundle, Beetle, Hot Essence and Witchfire. The potion guide directs you to drink it inside the Cave of Questions to turn into a mushroom and pass through. It is not the same potion as Insta Ungrow for overgrown vines.

Get the recipe and bought ingredients
Ask the green sprite at the Cave of Questions for the recipe. The Reddit helper describes the character outside the cave; the walkthrough calls it the cave sprite. Hyla’s Newt’s Eye shop in Wisk sells Bone Bundle, Beetle and Hot Essence. The guide lists prices of 80, 10 and 200 Gold Petals respectively; compare the live shop card before buying.
Brew the bottle before returning to the cave
- Gather Witchfire, listed as a Summer or Fall forage ingredient, and the three bought materials.
- At a cauldron, select Potion of Fungal Transmutation. Practice until Brew is available, then Brew the actual potion.
- Check inventory for the bottle, return to the Cave of Questions and drink it inside, following the current item interaction.
- Look for the mushroom transformation before attempting the passage again.
A red-vine barrier needs a different answer
The current Reddit discussion mixes a fungal cave barrier with big red vines on a mountain route. A reply identifies Ungrow for the vines. Do not buy Fungal Transmutation materials to solve every obstacle, and do not substitute a practice score for a bottle. This page does not establish the exact Quiet Witches location or every cave question.
