Getting started
Songs of Glimmerwick flute quiz: do crystal and dew choices matter?
A player reports that different answers to the starting flute questions produce different flute icons. The original question specifically compares dew with crystal. The reply does not provide an answer-to-icon table or demonstrate a gameplay bonus. We therefore cannot name a strongest combination or promise that the quiz has no mechanical effect in every version.

How to approach the choices in the demo
- Read the choices on your screen and select the description you prefer if you are not following a demonstrated target-icon recipe.
- Once you receive the flute, inspect its icon. That is the visible difference the reporting player identifies.
- Continue the lesson using the spell’s shown notes and prompt. An unfamiliar icon is not evidence, by itself, that you chose a bad stat build.
Choosing by preference is our practical recommendation in the absence of a proven optimization table. It is not a hidden rule extracted from the game.
Icon changes are different from confirmed buffs
The April reply states that answer combinations change the icon, then expresses uncertainty about the flute’s appearance while playing and about meaningful buffs. Keep those parts separate: the icon is a reported observation; no-buff claims are the player’s impression. The thread does not enumerate every question, prove that a specific combination increases mana or unlocks a spell, or demonstrate changing the result later.
If the chosen flute does not cast a spell
Check the casting and placement steps before attributing the problem to the quiz. The controller guide covers pinning the notes and completing the cast; the tilling guide covers assigning a ground target afterward. Eastshade separately says music-minigame stars are not required to cast, as explained in song mastery help. Those documented controls are more useful than rerolling an unverified “best flute.”
