Soft lock after entering before using the key

Version 1.08 fixes the secret-meeting-room soft lock caused by entering its trigger portal before using the key. Update if that is your sequence. The note supplies no universal reset for a missing floorboard event or a Lost Key quest that never activated; keep the prerequisites above separate.

Get the key with Clover

Finish Fern’s Confrontation and watch for Clover’s floorboard conversation in the dorm from Fall 8. Agree to her plan to break the squeaky board and collect the Floorboard Key underneath. The walkthrough lists calendar and detention exclusions, so Fall 8 is an earliest opportunity, not a guaranteed event date.

Use it after the Winter 4 History Final

1. Keep the key until the History Final in Grey Hall.
2. After class, follow Clover to the unusual paintings in the history classroom.
3. Use the key at the painting door. Enter the hidden room and check the journal update.
4. If you left before using it, the walkthrough says Clover returns to the paintings when you come back.

The room and the next story step

The room’s toad and music-box sequence lead to Tangleknot Remover, which opens the forest-centre route toward the Harp of Six.
