Is Songs of Glimmerwick playable on Steam Deck?

What does the Playable label cover?

Open the Steam store page and its Steam Deck Compatibility details, rather than relying on the separate “Full Controller Support” tag. Valve’s current panel says the game is functional on Deck but may take extra effort to interact with or configure. It lists possible use of the touchscreen, virtual keyboard or a community layout; non-Deck button icons, manual keyboard invocation for text entry and small in-game text are also flagged. The same panel includes a positive statement about default graphics performance. It displays both a default-controller accessibility statement and a warning about some inaccessible functions, so do not turn the label into a blanket promise that every prompt works with the stock layout.

Check the tasks you actually need in the demo

1. Use Steam’s free demo on your Deck to check text size and whether character creation or other text entry brings up the keyboard when needed.
2. Try opening the map by clicking the right stick, the shortcut Eastshade added in demo 0.465. If the prompt differs, check the current controls menu.
3. Try the flute and one garden spell with your chosen layout. The controller spell guide records a player’s demo sequence; the tilling guide explains the separate placement step.

These are checks to perform on your own device, not claims that we tested its frame rate, battery life or every control.

What to check again at launch

Valve’s rating, the developer’s demo controls and the launch build can change independently. Before buying for Deck specifically, reopen the current Steam compatibility panel and test the released build or recent player reports for any action the demo does not include.
